The University of Ibadan’s story is one of evolution. Its origins lie inΒ Yaba College, Nigeria’s maiden tertiary educational institution, inaugurated in 1932 in Yaba, Lagos. This institution was subsequently relocated to Ibadan, taking on the moniker of the University College of Ibadan in 1948. Finally, on 17 NovemberΒ 1948, the institution was christened the University of Ibadan, becoming a beacon of knowledge and research.
