This significant event marks the culmination of years of hard work for the graduating class and the university’s commitment to advancing the frontiers of learning.

Prelude to the Milestone: The Convocation Lecture

The ceremonies commence with the pre-convocation lecture at 4 p.m. at Mammam Kontagora Square, Main Campus, ABU Zaria, on Friday, January 26, 2024. The lecture, aptly titled “This is Your Time: Outlined in Confidence and with Haste,” will be delivered by the distinguished Donald Duke, CON, former Governor of Cross River State.

The Main Event: Conferring of Degrees and Honors

The highlight of the convocation, the award of degrees, postgraduate diplomas, and honorary degrees, will take place at the prestigious Mammam Kontagora Square, Main Campus, ABU Zaria, on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at 10:00 a.m.

A Gathering of Distinguished Guests

ABU is honoured to host Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR’s President of Nigeria, as the Special Guest of Honor. Joining the auspicious ceremony is Senator Uba Sani, the Executive Governor of Kaduna State, serving as the Chief Host. The esteemed Malam Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, CFR, the Emir of Zazzau, will grace the event as the Royal Father of the Day.

A Call to the Graduating Class

Graduates are encouraged to liaise with their respective faculties for the collection of academic gowns starting on Monday, January 22, 2024. This formality is an integral part of the preparation for the gathering, symbolising the transition from students to esteemed alumni.
