Available Schools and Departments
- School of Communication and Information Technology:
- Departments include Office Technology and Management (Bilingual Option) and Music Technology.
- School of Engineering:
- Courses in Agricultural and Bio-Environmental Engineering Technology (Post Harvest and Soil and Water Options), Mechatronics Engineering (Automotive and Industrial Mechatronics Options), and Welding and Fabrication Engineering Technology.
- School of Environmental Studies:
- Offering transport planning and management technology.
Programme Duration
Each of these programmes spans four semesters, equating to two academic sessions.
Eligibility Criteria for Ilaro Poly HND Admission
- Academic Requirements:
- Applicants must hold a National Diploma not below Lower Credit (CGPA not less than 2.50) and meet the basic requirements for the National Diploma Program in their discipline.
- Specific SSCE requirements, i.e., WAEC/NECO/NABTEB/GCE O’Level, are required for each programme.
- Experience Requirement:
- A minimum of one calendar year of relevant industrial experience post-National Diploma.
- Performance in screening:
- Good performance in the screening exercise conducted by the Polytechnic.

Application Method for Federal Polytechnic Ilaro Newly Accredited HND Programmes
Starting Application
- Applications are available online at the Federal Poly Ilaro Website starting on Thursday, December 28, 2023.
Application Deadline
- The closing date for applications is Monday, January 15, 2024.
Application Procedure
- Visit the website: Navigate to Federal Poly Ilaro’s Portal.
- Generate Invoice: Click on ‘Portal’ → ‘Applicant’ → ‘Generate Invoice’. Kindly fill in your details and select your programme of study.
- Payment: Pay the fee at any of the designated banks and obtain the RRR number.
- Form Submission: Return to the portal, click on ‘Applicant’ and then on ‘Fill Application Form’. Enter the RRR number to access and complete the application form.
