Candidates Shortlisted For Akwa Ibom State Scholarships
The list of the 500 underprivileged undergraduate students from Akwa Ibom State who have been chosen to receive scholarships from the Akwa Ibom State Government for the 2021/2022 academic session.
It may be recalled that the Akwa Ibom State Executive Council, presided over by His Excellency, Governor Udom Emmanuel, approved the distribution of scholarships to 500 indigent Akwa Ibom students studying in public universities throughout the country at its meeting on June 27, 2022.
The Council had authorised the State Ministry of Education to carry out the processes for selecting successful candidates, and as a result, the Ministry released an application form and invited student entries through its website.

At the completion of the two-month notice period and the end of all application submissions, a total of 1665 entries were received, of which 1192 passed the first round of screening and were subsequently invited for an aptitude test held at UNIUYO ICT Centre on Tuesday, December 27, 2022.
At the conclusion of the activity, 500 applicants received the best scores on the aptitude test and are hereby presented for the award of N200,000 scholarships for the 2021/2022 academic year.
The beneficiaries are divided as follows, in accordance with the State Executive Council’s direction of 70% of students from Science and Technology and 30% from other courses:

The scholarship was established for students having a minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 3.50 on a 5.00 scale.
Beneficiaries should go to the Office of the Honourable Commissioner, Ministry of Education, Idongesit Nkanga Secretariat, Uyo, to pick up their cheques.
We congratulate the current scheme’s recipients and wish those who were unable to participate this year luck in future rounds. This is proof that Governor Udom Emmanuel’s government would continue to place a high value on academic performance and assist the educational growth of Akwa Ibom students.
