The Abia State University (ABSU) 42nd matriculation ceremony promises to be grand. The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Onyemachi M. Ogbulu, has invited parents, guardians, and the public to join in this significant occasion for the 2023/2024 academic session.

Ceremony Details

  • Date: Friday, 9th August 2024
  • Venue: University Pavilion
  • Time: 11.00 am

The ceremony will include:

  • Postgraduate students who are new to Abia State University.
  • First-year undergraduate students of both the Regular programme and the Institute for Continuing Education (ICE) who have paid their school fees.
  • Other students who, due to valid reasons, missed their enrollment in their admission year.

Matriculation Regalia and Payment

To participate in the ceremony, students need to hire matriculation regalia, including a gown and cap, and purchase a brochure. The total cost is fifteen thousand Naira (N15,000.00). Payments should be made at the designated banks: ABSU Micro-Finance Bank, EcoBank Plc, Fidelity Bank Plc, Union Bank Plc, Zenith Bank Plc, and UBA Plc. Payments can also be made via bank debit cards.

Payments must be completed by Tuesday, 6th August 2024. Matriculation materials will be available for collection starting Wednesday, 7th August 2024.

Important Notes for Students

Attendance at the matriculation ceremony is mandatory for all new students. Only students who have accepted their admission offer paid their fees, and registered for their courses will be eligible to participate.
