2024 WAEC GCE Examination Timetable

On this page, the West African Examination Council (WAEC) has released the official timetable for the forthcoming 2024 West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (WASSCE) WAEC GCE First Series.

WAEC GCE Exam Date

According to the information encapsulated in the 2024 WAEC GCE Timetable, the series of examinations is planned to commence on January 31, 2024, and conclude on February 17, 2024.

WAEC GCE Computer-Based Exams

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) General Certificate Examination (GCE) for 2024 is set to undergo a significant transformation, with a primary emphasis on Computer Based Testing (CBT). This innovative approach will be primarily utilized for Objective papers, where candidates will be required to answer all questions entirely through the CBT format. On the other hand, the examination adopts a hybrid approach for the essay and practical tests. In these sections, while the questions will be presented on computer screens, candidates will record their answers on paper. This blended method aims to streamline the testing process while maintaining the rigour and integrity of the examination.

Concession for Candidates with Special Needs

Candidates requiring special accommodations are entitled to receive 1.5 times the regular duration allotted to their peers for the completion of the examination.
